cruz and i met up with my parents, and my sister sara and her family at the fort calhoun fire station tonight. santa was visiting, so it was the perfect time to go. and what fun to see firetrucks AND santa claus! cruz loved sitting in the firetruck above. we have a fire station by our house, and everytime we pass it we talk about the firetrucks. he is infatuated with them. so this was a real treat to go and see them. the firefighters were so nice and gave him a special hat and a bag.

cruz's first encounter with santa claus. :)up until today we hadn't really explained santa claus to cruz. before his nap, tyler told cruz all about santa claus, and told cruz that he was going to be able to see him and tell him what he wanted for christmas. cruz got excited and said that he was going to ask for a buzz lightyear toy. so we hyped it up and talked about it all afternoon. but when we got there, cruz would NOT go sit with santa. he started walking towards him when santa offered him some candy, but then turned back around and clung to me. i set him up by santa at one point, but he started bawling. poor guy. he told him what he wanted for christmas from a distance - buzz lightyear. santa asked if he wanted anything else and cruz shook his head no. i kept encouraging cruz to go sit with him...that he needed to sit with him and tell him what he wanted, but he wouldn't budge. i'm so thankful for this picture my mom took - it cracks me up. the funniest part was at the end, when cruz whispered to me "mommy, i don't want a present". buzz lightyear wasn't worth going and sitting with santa for. :) oh my sweet boy, i love you.

such a fun time! wonder how many more years it will be before our boys will sit on santa's lap!
don't worry...ali bawled too! she was fine last year! she sat right next to santa and told him 2 of the 3 things she was going to tell him, then forgot the 3rd and started bawling. :)
