(this picture was taken on 10.8.09...on his 9 month birthday...now he is 21 months!)
how time flies...i was just rocking my baby and couldn't help but think about how big he is getting as he was talking up a storm. he is learning new words every.single.day. how can it be? this little boy is growing up way too fast for my liking. when i see baby pictures of him, i can't believe it...has that much time really passed already? i miss the little baby moments and want them back, but yet i love every single new moment with my now toddler boy. and i know he is going to keep changing and growing...i just want to keep every stage and special moment close to my heart. i hope i never ever forget these days.
like i mentioned above, cruz is saying new words constantly. just this weekend he learned how to say his own name. tyler and i have been trying to teach him his own name for months. and he finally said it! we were riding in the jeep on saturday and he said it! "cru". he has put the "z" on the end a few times, but most of the time it is just "cru". he points to tyler and says "daddy", me and says "mommy", and then points to himself and says "cru". so darling. tonight when i was putting him to bed he said "blankie" and then said "cru"...cruz's blankie! love it.
some funny/special moments that i want to record before i forget:
::on saturday i found cruz licking water off of the kitchen floor. i silently watched and realized that he was shaking water out of his sippy cup and then licking it off of the floor like a dog. he did this over and over again. tyler and i got a good laugh and tyler even fed him some cheez-its on the floor...said he was a kitty. haha. :)
::cruz has been asking to read the "bible" (he can say it!) every night for bedtime the past few nights. it is so sweet. i love it that he likes to read bible stories. i hope and pray that he will have continued interest in the bible and all that Jesus is about as he grows older.
::he loves throwing away trash. if he finds a piece of anything that looks remotely like it belongs in the trash, he runs it to the trash can, saying "trash" all the way.
::we have been doing a lot of baking, and cruz has noticed. just tonight he pulled out the flour and sugar containers from the cabinet...proceeded to bring them to me to put them on the counter, and then went to go get the measuring cups. he then stepped up on his step stool and started jabbering away...must of been asking me to bake something!

Carrie, this was so sweet! I love that he gets excited about having you read his "Bible" to him. And how adorable about how he brings you things, wanting you to bake something! :-)
I always love your posts, Carrie, and this one is special! I am so happy for you that you have such a sweet loveable boy. And it just warms my heart to see him with my boys... so happy they have each other to grow up with. You're a great mom and a great auntie! Oh and a great sister too!
