snow days.

man, i am on a roll with the blogging thing recently!  deep inside i wish that i would blog everyday, but that isn't a realistic goal for me right now.  or maybe it just isn't that important of a goal to me right now. ;)

cruz and i have been at home the last two full days.  and we have loved every minute of it.  my bosses said that i didn't need to go in to work on tuesday or wednesday - yippee!  i was more than happy to stay home with my little boy.  we have been having a wonderful time.  it did stop snowing this morning, but the wind picked up and made a mess with the snow.  there are 2 foot drifts along some of our windows.  you can also see the grass in some areas of the yard.  that is how windy it is.  it is 7pm right now, and a snow plow still hasn't come on our street.  it has been amusing to watch cars plow through the snow today.

cruz and i have been having a wonderful time at home.  it has made me think about what it would be like to do this everyday.  here are some of the things that we have done:

- we have danced to christmas music
- i made homemade apple pie
- cruz has practiced his walking skills
- we have cuddled on the couch and watched the biggest loser and emeril green
- i have tickled cruz and made him giggle giggle giggle
- i have wrapped presents
- i have updated cruz's baby book
- we have done laundry together
- cruz has talked to all of his friends on his play phones
- i have put pictures in frames
- we have played with lots of toys
- i have done some work from home
- and we have waited for daddy at the door each day with big smiles and kisses

and right now i have a pot of made from scratch (no recipe) soup on the stove.  if you know me, this is a big deal.  i never make up recipes.  i have always followed recipes to the t until the last few months.  i have actually been enjoying making adjustments to recipes and subbing things in and out.  but i never make things totally up.  i shouldn't be saying this.  the soup might be horrible.  oh well.  i had fun making it. :)

hope you enjoyed our little snow days recap.  we shall see what the roads are like tomorrow when we finally venture out.

Carrie, what a cute picture of Cruz! And, so wonderful that you could have these extra few days together, all day long. :-) Thanks for sharing about your day ... I loved reading about the fun you had. And ... how did the soup turn out?? I'm sure it was good ... you are a good cook to make your own recipes!
Love you,
Mom

So glad you could stay home the past few days. I loved NE snow days for that very reason...the 'cozyness' of staying home together. : ) You are a wonderful mommy to Cruz! And, way to go making up your own soup recipe! -cristy
