9 months.

Our little boy is growing up!  Thursday was his 9 month birthday.  It is hard to believe!  This past month he has really gotten the moving thing down.  He can now crawl anywhere and everywhere.  He gets himself into some funny situations.  He is so curious and will try to squeeze himself into wherever his little body will fit him.  He can also pull himself up very well and even stay standing when he lets go.  He's pretty steady on his feet.  He can also climb the stairs.

He has just started saying "da-da" this week.  We were trying to get him to say it Wednesday morning and he has really caught on!  He now says "da" all the time...we'll pretend that he is saying "da-da" as in "dad".  :)  His little noises are so adorable.  Tyler and I love hearing him talk to himself and us.  He also loves to play peek-a-boo and gets a kick out of it when we throw a blanket over him and he has to wiggle himself out.  So fun!

We went to the Doctor's yesterday for his 9 month appointment.  Here are his stats:

Weight: 19 lbs 3 oz (27th percentile)
Height: 29 inches (73rd percentile)
Head: 49 cm (90th percentile)

I was surprised to see his weight.  I was sure that he was over 20 pounds, but the Dr said he isn't worried or surprised because of how much he is moving!  He said he is tall and skinny.  He is just like his daddy!  The Dr. gave Cruz a 100% on his gross motor development.  He said he is actually doing better than average in that department.  He was impressed with all the things that Cruz can do.  He kept laughing at Cruz and calling him a funny man.  Cruz was playing with the tassles on his shoes!  haha.  Everything else looked fine and we got the go-ahead to start giving Cruz table food!  yay!  This will be a new experience.  I can tell that he is ready to be trying new foods though.  He isn't as interested in baby food anymore and loves it when I give him finger foods.  I've been giving him quite a few finger foods lately...bananas, cheese, toast, puffs, waffles, etc.  He loves feeding himself.

Here are some pictures of our little boy on his 9 month birthday for you all to enjoy!  It was hard to get some ones of him holding still because he is always on the move...

Carrie, I loved reading about Cruz at 9 months ... and I am so blessed to be able to help with him each week, and see all the new things he is constantly learning. And what a sweetheart he is ... he was so sweet to me tonight at the party for Levi. :-) I loved it!
