KC!

tyler gave me a trip to kansas city for mother's day!  we went the weekend after mother's day.  jared and katie were able to join us as well, which was a lot of fun.  they just found out that they are expecting their first baby in december!  we are so excited for them!

we left on friday at about 4pm and got home around 8pm on saturday night.  it was a quick trip, but oh so much fun!  it was so good to get away.  tyler had been working a lot that week (finishing up a big basement job), so i hadn't seen him much.

we had a great time eating good food, going to jardines (a jazz club), sleeping in at the marriott, shopping at the plaza, etc.  we were trying to find a place to play putt-putt golf on saturday and ended up in a tiny town...it was voted one of the coolest top ten small towns in america.  :)  we had fun exploring the tiny town and getting ice cream on main street.  i also challenged tyler to race me at one point...to which he said "are you kidding me?"...and then he took off.  i ended up losing real quick, and then found myself laying on the blacktop after taking a nasty fall.  not sure how it happened....tripped over my own feet.  we had a good laugh over it though.

although it was hard to leave cruz at home, it was easier leaving knowing that he was going to be in such good hands.  mom and dad watched him friday night through saturday morning.  they stayed at our house with him, which was very comforting to me...knowing that cruz would sleep in his own bed.  sara came over and watched him all day on saturday too.  as you can tell by the pictures, i don't think that cruz missed his mommy and daddy much.  he was too busy playing with his grandparents and his aunt!!

I'm glad you were able to get away, especially after Tyler's big basement remodel. Sounds like you had a great time, and Cruz looked as happy as ever. : )
