We had 90 mph winds late Friday afternoon. The storm came very quickly and didn't last very long. I was still at work and Tyler and his dad were working on an arboretum. Angi, Jenni, and Lily were at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Luckily none of us were out on the road. It took me a long time to get home - there were trees, tree limbs, and poles down everywhere. Some of the major traffic lights were out too. Our house survived the storm ok. We just had one big tree limb down. Our yard looked like a disaster with all the leaves and stuff, but everything was ok.
We heard that initially there were 127,000 OPPD customers without power. We looked it up again tonight, and it looks like there are only about 8,800 left without power....and we are one of them! There are only 10 of us in our neighborhood without power. Everybody else got it either Saturday or Sunday. Since there are only 10 of us, we are thinking it might be a little while yet. OPPD said they are hoping to have power back to everyone by Saturday if the storms stay away.
One of our neighbors is letting us borrow his generator, which we have used some. Right now we just have an extension cord running to a neighbor's house to run our fridge. The generator runs on gas and is super noisy, so we are trying to avoid that. We are very thankful that we can run our fridge and one or two other things at a time though!
Tonight Tyler and I went out to avoid the heat. We went to eat and then ran some errands for his work. We just got back from getting a couple of fans as well. We're going to sleep downstairs tonight. :) It's a little cooler down there.
Tyler's family was here from Thursday through this morning. I felt so bad that they had to put up with this! They were troopers though and we still had lots of fun. We have some funny memories. Thanks for the fun time, you guys!

Oh my goodness Carrie! That is crazy. I'm so glad noone was hurt and that your house is ok. I can't imagine being without power for that long. I hope you get it back really soon.
